Softcore is a type or porn (pr0n) characterized by clothed, yet titilating sexual demonstrations. Penetration may be insinuated but is never depicted. The majority of Asian porn is softcore (see also: Japanese porn). Contrast German hardcore pornography.

Softcore also refers to softcore punk which is lighter and more melodic than traditional or hardcore punk and tends to be on the more "poppy" side. Emo is related to softcore. Examples of softcore punk bands are Millencolin and New Found Glory
