Originally named William's Gap, Snicker's Gap (elevation 1100 feet) is located in Virginia along Route 7, about 16 miles west of Leesburg. The commuter parking lot on the southwest corner of Route 7 and Route 601 is a popular spot for bird watching.

The Appalachian Trail passes through Snicker's Gap. Bear's Den Rock, providing a panoramic view of West Virginia and the Shenandoah River valley, is a popular stopping point for hikers.
