A famous quote from Winston Churchill (before he became the Prime Minister). While drunken at a party, he was approached by an angry lady:

"Sir, you are drunk!"

To which he simply replied,

"Yes madam, but you are ugly. I shall be sober in the morning."

Well dang, ya stumped me there factgirl. To be honest I don't care if it's true, it kinda adds to the myth that Winston Churchill was a great wit.

The gentleman in this quote has also been identified as Mark Twain and the lady as Queen Victoria and Mrs. Astor.

Both of these stories are described as false by George Thayer in _The Washington Post_ 27 April 1971, p. B6. Thayer was a research assistant to Randolph Churchill on the biography of Sir Winston Churchill.

I, being both drunk and ugly, do not see the humor.
