I've been held underwater for far too long,
my breathing labored,
my body fighting to come up

The sun shines, but I can barely feel it on my back
knowing it's there nonetheless

And when the hand pushing me down relaxes,
I gasp and break the surface,
choking and regaining my wits

Land is a whole new dimension,
and now that I'm free,
I take my place where I belong
