Folk music singer/songwriter/guitarist who has enjoyed recent commercial success. Her 1989 debut album,
Steady On, won a
Grammy for "Best Folk Album"; more recently, her song "
Sunny Came Home" (from
A Few Small Repairs) won two Grammy awards, and is her biggest hit to date. She is also noted for doing
covers. She toured with
Lilith Fair in 1997 and (briefly) in 1998.
