Shadows are the artform of the sun. As I walk around town in my lunch-hour, I can see a thousand of these subtle drawings spread across the pavements, the roads, and the sides of the buildings. The sun has a single style in which it renders this performance art, and it invites audience participation.

Here is a striking animation of the leaves of a tree, rendered in the absence of light on a canvas of stone blocks. I walk closer, and the artist adds a cameo of me.

Although the style can be repetitive, the artist takes great pains to ensure that each piece is unique, and marvellously adapted to the surroundings in which it is displayed.
