A Chinese Book of Life.

An important book dealing with the Circulation of the Light, an ancient practice of Magical Taoism. This book had incredible influence upon Israel Regardie who published a version of the ritual (the Middle Pillar) in his 'Complete Golden Dawn System of Magic'.

An excellent edition of the Secret of the Golden Flower is available and translated by Richard Wilhelm (he did the famous I-Ching as well), with also a commentary by Carl Jung.

The ritual deals with such practices as meditation, visualization, breathing techniques and inner alchemy. The text is written with the charateristic obscurity of Taoist writings but reveals much to the ears that are 'open'. These practices have much affinity with those which are to be found in the Taoist Canon or studied at the Northern Bushel Monastery.
