An order of dinosaurs. The name Saurischia means "lizard-hipped" and refers to the common forward-pointing structure of the hip bones of today's lizards, a trait shared by the dinosaurs in this order. Members of the order Saurischia are called saurischians. The order Saurischia is divided into the predatory theropods and the herbivorous prosauropods and sauropods.
