A gadget for your kitchen. A salad spinner consists of a bowl, a colander that fits inside it, and a lid with an assembly of gears. After rinsing your salad greens, you put them in the colander, put the colander in the bowl, clamp the lid down tightly, and start cranking the handle. As you crank the handle on the top of the lid, the greens inside are pushed outward, and the excess water is forced out into the bowl.

The spin cycle of a washing machine works the same way, only with less cranking.

Come to think of it, so does Gravitron.
