These cookies are also known as Walnut Ball Cookies. They are great with coffee or tea and should be kept in an air-tight container after baking so they don't dry out.
(2 sticks) - room temperature
½ cup granulated sugar
2 ½ cups flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 cups finely chopped walnut
2 cups powdered sugar
Preheat the oven 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Measure butter and sugar into a mixing bowl and cream them together with electric mixer. Measure and add flour and salt. Mix thoroughly. Measure and add chopped nuts to the dough. Beat the mixture again with a mixer and blend well. (The mixture will look crumbly.)
Roll dough into small balls, about ¾ to 1 inch in diameter and place them onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake them for 15 minutes. When cookies are cool to handle (about 5 minutes) roll them carefully in powdered sugar.
