Gathering place for people interesting in rollerskating. Roller rinks run the gamut from left over suburban relics still occasionally used for 12 year olds' birthday parties, featuring stuffed mascots leading various activities and colorful party rooms filled with floppy pizza and diluted Kool-Aid, to funky night spots drawing recently re-converted rollerksating enthusiasts, complete with intense displays of physical skill and pursuit of sexual conquest (see the Golden Glide). Women wear tight jeans and men leave their patent alligator leather shoes under the benches. $300 skates with no brakes are common.
