The "little brother" of Roland JX-10 (which is more or less two JX-8P:s together).

The JX-8P is a 6-voice, 12-DCO, programmable digital/analog hybrid synthesizer with a touch-sensitive and pressure-sensitive 5-octave, 61-note (C-C) keyboard. It is a direct descendant of Roland's first non-knob-and-slider synth, the JX-3P. Each voice contains two DCOs, one VCF, and a single ADSR envelope generator for the VCF and/or the VCA, which can be inverted.

Due to a lack of knobs and sliders, programming the JX-8P can be a slow and painful process. The separately sold Roland PG-800 programmer allows much quicker and easier editing.

1985-1988
