One of the most distinguished translators of ancient works into modern English. As translator of ancient Greek his work includes some of the great pieces of that time. Fagles has won some of the most prestigious awards when it comes to literature, for his ability to convey ancient thought while pertaining to modern speech is immense.

Bio

A Professor of Comparative Literature at Princeton University. Fagles is and was an only child, and his father died when he was young, which left his mother to influence him. He is married, and has two daughters. Fagles is currently working on a new translation of Virgil's The Aeneid
