The largest of Honduras' Bay Islands, Roatan has become quite a tourist destination. It's a pretty much untainted island as far as the tourism goes, and may be one of the last places in the Western Caribbean that isn't overrun by commercial tourist development. The island is most well known for its beautiful beaches, friendly locals, and crystal clear water.

The local culture, "Garifuna", is a mix of Caribbean, Jamaican, African, Spanish, and British cultures. They have a very unique style of music that's sure to be heard anywhere and everywhere on the island.
