Former Dutch tennis player, born on December 6, 1971 in Rotterdam. Being a professional since 1989, Krajicek won his first and last major title in 1996 - Wimbledon.

The son of Czech immigrants began playing tennis at age 4 and won the 12-under and 14-under National Championships twice.

The 1.96 m tall Dutchman established the Richard Krajicek Foundation in July 1993 for junior players in his country who don't have funds to play pro tennis. He was coached by Australian Rohan Goetzke since October 1990. Due to knee, ankle and elbow injuries, Krajicek has played just a few tournaments in the last two years. He reached his highest ranking ever in March 1999: 4th of the world. He retired from professional tennis in June 2003, after suffering from another elbow injury during the grass tournament of Rosmalen. Richard's sister Michaëlla Krajicek is predicted a bright tennis future as well.
