Canadian Politician and former Prime Minister from 7 August 1930 - 23 October 1935

R.B. Bennett was a Canadian Prime Minister during the unfortunate years of the Great Depression (7 August 1930 - 23 October 1935). He wrested control of Canada for one term from William Lyon Mackenzie King in 1930. He became the butt of jokes such as Bennett buggies, cars pulled by horses or oxen because the owners could not afford gasoline. He never married and was the only Prime Minister from New Brunswick and is the only deceased Canadian PM not buried in Canada. (He moved to England and renounced his Canadian citizenship.).
