Rex Banner is a character on The Simpsons. He appeared only in the episode in which Prohibition was legalized in Springfield. He was hired to enforce it, putting Clancy Wiggum out of a job. He is inable to smile and dresses in a 1920's detective fashion. Though he is a highly trained detective, he still couldn't catch the Beer Baron (Homer Simpson), who was sneaking beer into Moe's Tavern. Rex was catapulted out of town in the end.

Comic Book Guy: "Yes, but only by night. By day, I'm a mild-mannered reporter for a major metropolitan newspaper."
Rex Banner: "Don't crack wise with me, tubby!"
Comic Book Guy: "Tubby? Oh yes, tubby."
