The
protagonist in
Garth Ennis's ultra violent comic book series
Preacher. Genesis, the offspring of a union between an
Angel and a
Demon, and therefore an entity who transcends
good and
evil,
God and
Satan, bound itself to the good Reverend, thereby giving him the "word of
God." That is to say, Jesse has the ability to order people to do things, and, if they hear and understand, they must obey, regardless of the command's nature. This leads to some pretty crazy stuff.
Jesse's ultimate goal is to hunt
God down and find out why He ran away from everything and is no longer watching over mankind (although the good Reverend didn't say it quite so nicely. . .I can't find the exact quote, but I think it had to do with crushing
God's balls).
