reinstall

Task that must be performed on Microsoft Windows every six months on average. Failure to reinstall leads to a system that runs very slowly (if at all).

Tips for reinstalling

1. Know exactly what every piece of hardware you have is
2. Get the latest drivers for everything (if they don't work use old drivers - especially on NT)
3. Make sure you have plenty of coffee
4. Backup every last piece of data
5. Memorise (or write down) all your usernames and passwords
6. Make a copy of your DUN settings
