punk rock-ish outfit, formed back in
1980 and still together
today. Guitarists and drummers are
revolving-door members, but
brothers and band founders Steve and Jeff McDonald are and have always been the lead singer and bassist (respectively).
They were once known as "Red Cross" until they were threatened litigious action by the International Red Cross.
Redd Kross are underground sensations and they've opened for such lucrative acts as Sonic Youth.

Their tribue to Japanese cult megastars Shonen Knife appears on "Third Eye" (approrpiately titled "Shonen Knife").
Shonen Knife penned an infectious track, "Redd Kross", as a tribute to the McDonalds and company. (I'm actually not sure which came first, "Redd Kross" by Shonen Knife or "Shonen Knife" by Redd Kross.) The lyrics to Shonen Knife's tribute follow:
