Qa'im can be translated as "
savior" or "
the one who will rise." He is
Imam Al-Mahdi, who will return from
occultation to
guide and judge humanity. This is the
qiyamat of
Shi'a faith. The
Baha'i religion is based on the belief that
Baha'u'llah was the
Qa'im.
Most likely unrelated, but interesting nonetheless, is that in 1996 Qa'im was adopted as the name for an international organization devoted to teaching Islamic jurisprudence.
