Py*æ"mi*a, Py*e"mi*a (?), n. [NL., fr. Gr. &?; pus + &?; blood.] (Med.)

A form of blood poisoning produced by the absorption of pyogenic microorganisms into the blood, usually from a wound or local inflammation.
