'Puberty Blues' is a 1981 Australian film.

This is a coming-of-age story set in a southern beach suburb of Sydney, Cronulla, and became somewhat of a cult classic through its depiction of sex, drugs and alcohol and the surfie (skeg) culture.

It also championed the budding sexuality and feminist assertion of the two main characters, Debbie (Nell Schofield) and Sue (Jad Capelja) as they come-of-age in a male chauvinist world.

It was based on the semi-autobiographical novel of the same name, written by Kathy Lette and Gabrielle Carey.

'Puberty Blues' also starred Charles 'Bud' Tingwell and was directed by Bruce Beresford.
