Provo is a city of approximately 110,000 people 45 miles south of Salt Lake City and 4,560 feet above sea level. It is probably most well-known for being the home of Brigham Young University, as well as the headquarters of Novell, Inc. There are other high-tech companies in the city as well.

Provo is well known, even in Utah, as a conservative, family friendly place. It can feel a little opressive to a free-wheeling East Coaster like myself, but then again, the weather's beautiful, the mountains are nice, and it is a pretty town, and actually has a good downtown area. And there are worse things than spending time around a bunch of pleasant Mormon families.
