Cologne. Run by
Wolfgang Voigt, who is also behind most of the
music.
Profan's
style can be described as
very dry and
minimal techno, topped with
percussive sounds that sound
misplaced at first. But there is a great deal of
variation between each
release, so it's hard to
pinpoint any
specific type of sound.
The sub-labels of Profan are
Studio 1 (now
defunct),
Auftrieb,
Blei and
PopAcid.
