The rainbow's daughter, in the Oz books. She is a fairy maid who is immensely beautiful and subsists largely on dewdrops. She cannot bear to be long without her home, the rainbow, but unlike her sisters, Polychrome is an adventuresome lass and has been known to be stranded on the ground in Oz and its magical suburbs once or twice.
