The Portable Object Adaptor is the replacement for the BOA in the CORBA. The POA is, as it's name implies, more portable than its predecessor. It allows for object implementations to be immediately usable with different ORBs. It is also more scalable, supporting a larger number of activation methods and making persistent objects easier to implement.

Po"a (?), n. [NL., fr. Gr. grass.] Bot.

A genus of grasses, including a great number of species, as the kinds called meadow grass, Kentucky blue grass, June grass, and spear grass (which see).
