ピンピン

Japanese for "lively." Seriously. To pronounce it, imagine Speedy Gonzales or Ren Hoek saying "Peempeen."

There is also a verb form, pimpin suru, "to be lively." When one of my friends in college Japanese happened across the following sentence in a text:

Ojisan wa hachijûsai desu kedo, mada pimpin shite imasu.
Grandpa is eighty years old, but he is still lively.
...he translated it as "Grandpa is eighty, but he's still pimpin'."
