The Philippines' most popular daily broadsheet. The Philippine Daily Inquirer was born out of the "mosquito press" industry during the Marcos era. The newspaper, like most respected newpapers in the Philippines, is published in English.

Many people dislike it for it's sensationalist style of journalism, but it is probably why the Inquirer is so popular. The Inquirer's stable of writers include such well respected people as veteran journalist Conrado de Quiros, economist Solita Monsod, and former chief justice Isagani Cruz.

The Inquirer is also one of the better Philippine news sources on the web: http://www.inquirer.net
