Philip Hansen Anselmo, the former vocalist of the heavy-metal band Pantera, was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on June 30, 1968.

Phil joined Pantera in 1983, after Terrence Lee, the band's original singer, departed. After that, Pantera made their first studio album entitled "Power Metal", which is unavailable in most music stores, and is a rarity even among imports, mostly because it's rather bad hair metal.
