The rarest Megadrive game to actually be released, Phantasy Star MD is simply the Master System game Phantasy Star bundled with a boot ROM to start up the Megadrive in Master System emulation mode. Only 1,000 copies were made. The game was released to mark Phantasy Star's 5th birthday.
