Patrick Bouvier Kennedy was the infant son of
Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy and
President John F. Kennedy. He was the third in a series of pregnancy losses or early infant deaths for the couple. Patrick was born August 7, 1963 and died less than 2 days later on August 9, 1963. He was born prematurely at 32/33 weeks
gestation at a time when treatment of
premature infants was in its
infancy. Today, it is likely he would have been easily (relatively) treated and survived.
Patrick is buried in
Arlington National Cemetery ,
Arlington,
Virginia, USA.
