Pastrami Levine: a sandwich offered in the Levine Marketplace (Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts) cafeteria since 1999. Pastrami Levine, as well as Levine Marketplace, Levine Hall, and a classroom in the engineering building, are so named because of a 1.3 million dollar contribution, as well as two other "major gift(s)", made by Irving M. Levine. In a recent examination (spring, 2002) few Levine Marketplace patrons acknowledged understanding the term, "Pastrami Levine." We must question, is the Pastrami Levine an sandwich, or an unpopular term?
