PCOS or PCOD

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome OR
Polycystic Ovary Disorder.

Cysts on the ovary/ovaries that do/may cause pain, infertility, hirsutism, weight gain, amenorrhea {lack of menstruation}.

Can sometimes be linked to Endometriosis. Usually, sufferers are given hormones to help reduce the cysts. Most commonly, Birth Control Pills.

I am a PCOS sufferer.

I am also inflicted by this wonderful disease, and found out at age 15. Now I must think about things such as having children and whether I want children, because pcos sufferers are usually infertile or can only have children for a very short period of time. We're at risk for many more ovarian and vaginal cancers, heart disease, and adult onset diabetes. The public's lack of knowledge on this disease is quite suprising, for it's one of the most common ovarian diseases. Cures: partial or total hystorectomy.
