The Outaouais region is part of Western Quebec, home to about 300,000 people. Predominantly French-speaking (~5/6), with a majority of the Anglophones residing in the Hull area. Also a river flowing through the region and a dialect of French spoken in the region.

Sub-regions of the Outaouais region include Hull, Aylmer, Gatineau, Lower Gatineau, Papineau, Pontiac and Maniwaki.

Pronounced "oo-te-way."

Hmm, a soft-link to "ethnic slur." Is "Outaoiais" considered derogatory? I wrote it up b/c it was linked to from E2 Translators, I didn't mean to offend anybody. If the term carries some baggage with it, /msg me and I'll include it.
