This is a very interesting song written by
Kurt Cobain of
Nirvana. According to some sources it was the last song he wrote before he committed
suicide,
Courtney Love said it was one of the last songs he wrote.
Recently there has been an attempt to put out a Nirvana Boxed set and it was going to contain some unreleased stuff. Well last week Ms. Love won an
injunction in court delaying it. She does not want the song On The Mountain included on it. She hasn't elaborated on her reasons, the recordings of the song are probably all from live shows and its pretty easy to find if you look online with whatever
filesharing program you use.
And as one other interesting note, on
Valentine's day a few years ago Courtney performed the song on
MTV's
Unplugged. Here's how she introduced it:
"This is one of the last songs that Kurt wrote. We're probably going to fuck it up. We can't do it that well. But its Valentine's day so Kurt'll hear it and say 'Courtney, you fucked up my song!'"
