A phrase I use a lot because it is useful. It should probably be inserted so deeply into the human mind that it is axiomatic to the very utterance of a statement.

Add this to a lot of philosophical directives, and they make much more sense.

For instance, if I say that on some level, everything is as it should be, I don't mean I'm not going to get angry if someone kicks me in the balls. Their attacking me is all a part of the grand scheme of things, but it is also part of the grand scheme of things for me to kick their ass.
