Ogden is Utah's sixth largest city, located at the base of the Wasatch Mountains, 35 miles north of Salt Lake City. According to the 2000 Census, there are about 77,000 people living in Ogden, making it the most populous city in Weber County.

Many of the best things to do in Ogden are outdoors. Ski resorts Snowbasin and Powder Mountain are nearby, as are plenty of hiking trails and some good fishing spots. Local Weber State University has several popular athletic teams, and the Ogden Ice Sheet provides a very nice setting for hockey, skating, and curling events.

Some significant employers in the region are the IRS, Autoliv, Iomega, and Convergys. There's also Hill AFB nearby. Like most cities in Utah, there is a noticeable Mormon presence in Ogden, but the city still manages to have a passable nightlife. Be sure to hoist a pint of Polygamy Porter in tribute to your hosts while you're there!
