The oddest moment in clinic last week is when one patient is leaving and the next is entering the exam room. She is over eighty and her husband died less then a year ago.

"You look like you have wings and are about to take off," she says.

I blink. I am still thinking about my angel dream and more recently wrote I am sorry about the wings.

"I have been dreaming about wings," I tell her. "I have large bat wings, leathery and dark. I practice flying. But when I get cold, I grow feathers. My wings are covered with feathers in sea colors, blues and turquoise and greens and the greys and blacks of the ocean in a storm. The feathers keep me warm."

"That is lovely," she says.

Afterwards I think about how much she misses her husband and how sometimes people are close to that veil in grief. Or is it that I am closer to the veil than I know and she can see it? We don't know when we will die. But.... how odd that she sees wings....

I can't find my write up about the angel dream.... but I wrote it....or did I dream that?
