Easternmost province of Canada's mainland. Beautiful scenery and quaint, rural atmosphere combine with dynamic cities and energized nightlife. Undergoing painful economic change as high-tech rapidly supplants traditional lifestyle and rural living amounts to subdivisions and bed-and-breaksfasts and craft stores. Halifax, the provincial capital is a modern, exciting city with much history to offer.

Nova Scotia is the home of The Bluenose (cool big ship), the largest natural harbour on the east coast (Halifax Harbour), a really big explosion caused by a stupid signal mixup in the middle of World War II (The Halifax Explosion), the highest bar-to-student ratio this side of Ontario (the US may or may not be included in that. I don't know), and NSLUG, the Nova Scotia Linux Users Group.
