Former Los Angeles Police Department officer who was sentenced on June 12, 2002 to three years in federal prison, three years of probation and $280,000 restitution after being found guilty of civil rights violations in the shooting of an unarmed gang member, Javier Francisco Ovando in 1996.
Durden is cooperating in an ongoing investigation concerning similar charges against other officers of the LAPD and its anti-gang unit.
