An individual who studies electric and physical responses of human or animal nervous systems.

The primary means of recording brain responses are EEGs, which record voltage potentials either on the scalp or from electrodes implanted directly in the brain.

A number of research fields utilize neurophysiology. Biologists can record activation of individual cells, psychologists can monitor brain waves and event-related potentials, and therapists can employ biofeedback to alleviate such ailments as attention-deficit disorder and migraines.
