A small, power-efficient computer developed by
Corel, later sold to (now defunct)
rebel.com. It comes in two styles: a rack-mounted version and a low-footprint desktop model. The older models contain an
ARM processor and the newest models contain
Transmeta Crusoe processors. They all run the
Linux operating system.
Its primary use is as an office server, serving e-mail, web content, mailing lists, file/printer sharing and serving as a masquerading firewall. It handles any type of internet connection, from modem to DSL. The whole system can be administered through a slick web based configuration system. It is also useful as a development platform for embedded systems based on ARM.
