Nanbansu is a delicious sweet and sour marinade and dipping sauce that's easily made from scratch. It will keep for at least six weeks in the fridge, so you can make a batch and use it for several dishes.

What You Need:

What You Do:

  1. Combine all of the ingredients in a saucepan.
  2. Heat over a medium flame until the sugar is dissolved, stirring constantly.
  3. Use as a marinade while warm or store in the refrigerator.

See? I told you it was easy. You can increase the batch size as you wish, and sometimes I will kick in a bit of minced garlic and finely chopped ginger to switch things up.
