The severed head (and part of the neck, but not tail) of Myosin II. These are monomers (because they don't have tails to wrap around eachother in coiled coils). They are severed by Chymotrypsin treatment (to yield heavy meromyosin) which is further severed into 2 S1 heads and an S2 neck fragment after Papin treatment.
