Malaysian MSC or "
Multimedia Super Corridor" is "Malaysia's Gift to the World". So proclaims the official MSC website at
http://www.mdc.com.my/.
MSC is about 10km wide and 50km long, bounded by the city of Kuala Lumpur to the North and its airport KLIA to the South. The North-South Plus expressway forms its Eastern boundary and Elite Plus expressway forms its Western boundary. The ERL fast train under construction from Kuala Lumpur to KLIA runs through its middle, as well as the future Dedicated Highway to KLIA that is currently shelved.
Within the MSC there are three new cities/townships.
The development of MSC is being advised by IAP.
There are seven flagship applications created to jumpstart MSC. They are:
- Smart Schools
- Multipurpose card
- Telemedicine
- Electronic government
- R and D cluster
- Worldwide manufacturing web
- Borderless marketing initiatives
