Mr. Flibble appeared on the
BBC2 TV show
Red Dwarf in the episode
quarantine. Mr. Flibble was a small,
penguin-like hand puppet utilized by A. J.
Rimmer, the ship's resident
hologram, when he was infected with a holo-virus. The holo-virus caused Rimmer to go
insane, and he donned a red and white checked
gingham dress and army boots. Later in the episode Rimmer chased the other main characters around while
brandishing Mr. Flibble and channeling energy beams through his eyes. Eventually, Rimmer and Mr. Flibble were
subdued and Rimmer was cured of the holo-virus, and the ship resumed its course towards
Earth.
