Miss Wormwood is Calvin's teacher, from the Comic Strip Calvin and Hobbes.
Miss Wormwood is named after the apprentice devil in C.S. Lewis's "The Screwtape Letters". She is an old fashioned teacher who believes in the value of education. Her patience, however, has run extremely low with Calvin being one of her students. Calvin frustrates Miss Wormwood so much, that we have seen her:
- Mix medications
- Smoke Heavily ("Rumor has it that she's up to two packs a day, unfiltered.")
- Drink Maalox straight from the bottle
She's just counting the days until retirement.
