"mirabile dictu" means "wonderful to say" in Latin, but could more modernly be translated to "I'm happy to tell you" or words to that effect.
This expression is used to convey success or astonishment.
One of the earliest known uses of this phrase is by Virgil, in the Aeneid, I.439 .
