miniplenty is the
Newspeak term for the
Ministry of Plenty in
George Orwell's book
1984. In the book, the Ministry of Plenty was formed to
oversee the
distribution of goods such as
food,
cooking utensils, and so forth.
Regardless of their formation everyone except the highest members of The
Party lived in
poverty. The object of this was to keep
everyone in such a position that they would look to the Party to solve all their problems and
provide for them.
